Clothing for little girls and not so little girls Hello. My name is Jennifer Dewing. I make most of our own clothing (except for the boys) and so I have many various patterns; ranging from newborn (girls and boys) to size 16 for girls. We wear only dresses, so I have only dresses, skirts, jumpers & shirts/blouse patterns. For boys, I have infant patterns, 1T-4T overalls pattern, & size 2T-5T pants, shirt & vest patterns. I have nightgown patterns from infant to size 14, slip patterns from 2T to size 14 (5 different styles), I have 4 different style bloomers/pantaloons from toddler to 4XL woman, and pajamas (including footie pajamas) for boys/girls from 2T to size 8.
I also have many different style dresses, jumpers, nightgowns, & blouses for women; from sizes small (10-12?) to size 28. I have maternity patterns as well. I wear a head covering - the style is called "charity" style - and can also make these as well. If you desire a different style, let me know what it looks like and I will do my best.
We live in northern WI and the thrift stores around us (which are not many) don't have even a little selection of appropriate clothing for me and my girls. The boys are much easier to find clothes for, which is why I don't sew for them. All this is to say that I want to offer my sewing abillity to those who may need them. I'm not looking to make money or start a buisness. I just know how difficult it can be to find/afford modest clothing for the girls in your household. You can fing good cotton material at Walmart for $2 a yard or solid broadcloth for $1.50-$2. If you are interested, please contact me. All I ask is that you purchase your own material (after contacting with what style of clothing you want and the measurments so I can tell you how much material to buy), you can get any special buttons or "extras" (lace, pattches, ribbon, etc.) if you want (otherwise I'll pick out buttons if needed) and pay for shipping. That is all.
Again, I'm not looking to make money. I just want to help those who otherwise are not able to find/afford suitable clothing. I would love to be able to help you if I can. I will scan the pictures of the asked-for patterns so you can see what they look like and can better choose what you want.
With Love in Christ,
Jennifer

I generally wear big, foofy squaredance~style vintage dresses, to which I am seeking both bloomers, & full pinafores. have you heard of anyone making full victorian era swimwear? trying to find!
I do a lot of re~creations of skimpy shirts, shorts, skirts, etc. into smaller items that give an outfit fuller coverage such as leg warmers, full victorian lapel/collars & assorted spats'n'gloves. The more I read it, your post sounds as though we may not be a perfect match, as by the title line I envisioned/understood it to mean large, grown~up versions of small children's styles rather than full range age coverage for modestly made clothing. I don't go anywhere near a mall, and my children are home~schooled further reinforcing my happy lack of insight as it comes to current children's apparel. this leaves me with something of an old~fashioned, classic view on kid stuff. there is a woman, francis grimble, who has made numerous books chock full of era~accurate patterns, dating from 1820 onward. just everything one can imagine, cloaks, housecoats, dresses, and a lot one couldn't!
sincerelly,

modest clothing Hi. My name is Ann and I have 4 girls plus 8 boys and want to learn to sew because of the modesty issue but until I learn I need to do something. I mostly wear jumpers with button down front for nusing mid calf length and long full skirts. My girls wear the same and "mennonite" style dresses. What patterns do you have along these lines? Please respond to me by this email : sellisixoye3@aol.com
